Wilder Forge
My name is Chase Wilder. I live just outside the west end of Kalamazoo Michigan. I'm 18 years old, and I've been smithing since I was about 13.
Here at wilder forge, I create and sell quality hand forged knives, tomahawks, fire steels, period cookware, and bushcraft gear. Each and every piece that comes out of my shop has been forged to shape by hand, on an anvil, with a hammer, the same way the smiths of old did it. My goal is to offer hand made goods, reminiscent of a time when things where not engineered to fail, and when things where still built, with pride in America. Items that are far too rare in today’s world.
When it comes to knives, hawks, and anything made to hold an edge, I settle for nothing but the best. I use some of the most popular steels on the market for such things. This includes, 1095 high carbon, O1 tool steel, and W1 tool steel. When I have the chance, and if the customer would like, I will make a blade out of an antique file.
