Justifier "Bushcrafter" Knife Review

Justifier Knives are the the result of the hard work of Frank DeLalla a reverend from Nynack, New York. The knife I got off him is a bit of a prototype it is made with ⅛" A2 tool steel and he plans on making more but likely out of 5/32" or 3/16" stock on future runs, the ⅛" seems to do the trick very well though it slices like a dream and makes feather sticks with a breeze. I have only had a few hours use of it today and it wasn't hard use so I will start this as an overview and come back in time and post up some conclusions about the knife when I have had enough experience with it.

The knife is a full face convex grind on a fairly broad blade as I had already mentioned it really does slice like a dream it came shaving sharp which is what I expect of all my knives and don't do too many tests other than seeing it it will shave the hair off my arms. Just to be sure. A2 steel is known to have good edge retention so I suspect I should be pleased in that department.

The knife has micarta scales on it and they feel a bit thin in the hand but the knife doesn't seem to feel to small at all I would say this is likely due to the fact that the grip is a fairly broad rage and fills that hand more in that fashion than in the width of the scales they aren't anorexic thin just more so than I though they would be but I am still quite pleased with how the knife feels in hand and I'm still getting a feel for it.

The micarta on the scales are handmade micarta by Frank himself with toxic green burlap sandwiched between black canvas giving it a bit of a Zombie hunting colour motif. The knife is nice to look at and fit and finish is excellent in it.

The knive is 9 ½" overall length with half that of 4 ¼" of cutting edge. It has an open pommel with a lanyard hold on it to us to bludgeon anything should you feel the need to. It comes with a kydex sheath also made by Frank at Justifier. The sheath is a good fit there is a minor amount of play in it but the retention it great and you can shake it upside down all day long and it will not accidentally fall out.

The knife also came with a fire steel made with a walnut handle and a loop to store it in the sheath which is a great bonus.

So at this point I am just getting a feel for the knife but now that nice weather has arrived to Canada I should be getting out more and getting some real use out of this and will be back to write up a proper review shortly.
